Known to be the world\u2019s most widely used Linux platform, it was first released in October 2004, with hopes of building and shaping the future of free software, a more reason to learn what is Ubuntu Linux and how to install it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Yep, it\u2019s free!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is Ubuntu <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">As a Linux-based operating system, <em>Ubuntu <\/em>is designed for computers, smartphones, and servers. Based on the principles of open-source software development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Available with both community and professional support, Ubuntu is built on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umass.edu\/it\/software\/ubuntu-1604-lts\">manifesto<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">The manifesto states that the software should be free of charge, usable by people in their local language, and give them the freedom to customize their software however they see fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">In this guide, we\u2019re going to install Ubuntu onto your computer. It\u2019s easy to use, easy to install, and includes everything you need!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Ubuntu Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Before installing, you need to consider having a\/the:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\"><li>Linux operating system<\/li><li>Ubuntu version you want to install on either a DVD or a USB<\/li><li>Backup of your data, as you can never be too careful<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">You can <a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntu.com\/download\/desktop\">download the Ubuntu ISO file here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ubuntu Minimum System Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Now that you\u2019re installing, make sure you have The&nbsp;<strong>Recommended<\/strong>&nbsp;Minimum System Requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\"><li>VGA capable of 1024&#215;768 screen resolution<\/li><li>4 GB system memory Ram<\/li><li>2 GHz dual-core processor<\/li><li>25 GB hard-drive space<\/li><li>CD\/DVD or a USB port<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Since you have the ISO file downloaded and ready, it\u2019s time to choose if you want a CD or USB boot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ubuntu DVD boot<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">To create an Ubuntu installation DVD on Windows, you need the ISO file and a blank DVD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\" class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\"><li>For Windows 7, 8, or 10.
