ARIN IPv4 Free Pool Reaches Zero, ServerHub Post Exhaustion Phase Initiated

“ARIN issued the final IPv4 addresses in the ARIN free pool on 09/24/2015. Which has marked the end of IPv4 address issuance in the ARIN region.”

Dallas, TX, September 25, 2015 - ARIN issued the final IPv4 addresses in the ARIN free pool on 09/24/2015. All numbered resources that are issued by ARIN are provided by the global body IANA which has already been exhausted for a number of years. Thus marks the completion of IPv4 exhaustion within the ARIN region, as issuance of IPv4 for new and existing registrants is no longer possible.

As a result of IPv4 Exhaustion in the ARIN region, ISPs are no longer able to request additional IPv4 address space from the RIR within the region; and for lack of a better word: The IPv4 Address space that providers currently have registered to them, is for the most part, all that is left.

Although the ARIN free pool has been depleted, ServerHub currently has remaining IPv4 address space availability within its own free pool for issuance to it’s own customer base. Although we do not have a specific ETA on when the ServerHub free pool will be depleted, we are following an approach simular to ARIN whereas all requests for IPv4 address space will follow a first-in, first-out method.

ServerHub is committed to building a better internet experience for the community and will continuously find ways to enable businesses to grow and thrive on the internet. During this post exhaustion period, ServerHub will be introducing additional post exhaustion checks and balances to ensure that the remaining IPv4 free pool within it’s own organization is efficiently issued and utilized by those who have a justified need for IPv4 resources.
